Adventure Hikes
Welcome to our Adventure Hikes – an exclusive off-leash hiking service for dogs who love to explore! We take small groups or solo canine hikers out on scenic mountain trails in the western Denver area (including Boulder and Golden). Your pup will enjoy fresh air, exercise, and socialization under the care of our professional guides.
The Adventure Hike Experience
Off-Leash Freedom & Fun
Dogs get to romp and roam off-leash on safe, designated trails, enjoying the freedom to explore with their pack. Group hikes are kept small (usually 3–5 dogs) so every pup gets attention and can socialize in a controlled environment. Off-leash time means more exercise and mental stimulation than a neighborhood walk.
Scenic Foothills Trails
We hike on beautiful, dog-friendly trails in the Denver/Boulder foothills – think pine forests, meadows, and gentle streams. Each adventure outing lasts about 1.5–2 hours of trail time (plenty of time for tongues to hang out and tails to wag!), not including travel. We rotate through a variety of local trails to keep things exciting, while ensuring they are safe and allowed for off-leash dog fun.
Safety & Care on the Trails
Your dog’s safety is our top priority. Our experienced hikers are pet CPR and first-aid certified and trained in dog behavior and pack management. We carry water, treats, and first-aid kits on every hike, and take hydration and rest breaks as needed. Dogs are always supervised, and leashes are kept on hand in case we need to temporarily leash any dog. We also utilize GPS tracking and radios/cell phones for communication. After each hike, you’ll receive a report with GPS route details and photos of your dog’s adventure, so you can share in the fun and see exactly where we went.
Pricing & Packages
We offer both group hikes and private hikes to suit your dog’s needs. All hikes include door-to-door pick-up and drop-off, trail time, and lots of love and care. (All prices are per outing per dog.)

Dog Eligibility & Safety Requirements
To join our Adventure Hikes, dogs need to meet a few requirements for everyone’s safety and enjoyment:
- Vaccinated & Healthy: Dogs must be in good health, at least 6 months old, and up-to-date on core vaccines like Rabies and DHPP. This protects your dog and their trail buddies.
- Spayed/Neutered for Groups: For group hikes, all dogs over 6 months should be spayed or neutered (no females in heat or intact males on pack outings). This helps maintain a calm, focusable group.
- Good Manners & Recall: We require a basic temperament screening before the first hike. Dogs should be well-socialized (friendly with other dogs and people) and calm around other trail users. Reliable recall (coming when called) is a must for off-leash freedom – if a dog is still learning, we may use a long lead until they demonstrate good recall.
- Gear: Dogs should wear a secure collar or harness with ID tags. We provide leashes and any other hiking gear needed, as well as water and treats. If your dog has a favorite adventure pack or needs medication during the hike, let us know.
Coverage Areas
We’re proud to serve the Denver metro area, Boulder, Golden, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Superior, and the surrounding areas including the foothills with professional, certified pet care you can count on.
Frequently Asked Questions
To join our Adventure Hikes, dogs need to meet a few requirements for everyone’s safety and enjoyment:
- How long are the hikes and where do you go?
Each Adventure Hike outing lasts around 3–4 hours total, including transport. Dogs typically get 1.5–2 hours of actual hiking on the trail, depending on the group’s pace. We explore trails in the local foothills (e.g. Golden, Boulder areas) that are known to be dog-friendly and safe. We choose locations with shade and water when possible, so pups stay comfortable. - How many dogs are in a group hike?
We keep groups small – usually no more than 4 or 5 dogs together. This small pack size ensures each dog is closely supervised and can interact without feeling overwhelmed. There’s always one dedicated human guide per group managing the pack (and giving out belly rubs!). For dogs that do better alone, we offer private hikes instead. - Is it safe to let my dog off-leash?
Safety is our #1 priority. We only allow off-leash play in appropriate areas and after we’ve verified your dog has good recall and manners. Our guides are experienced in handling dog behavior and carry leashes to secure dogs if needed at any point. We hike in open-space trails away from traffic, and we’re prepared for emergencies with first-aid training and GPS tracking. If ever in doubt, we’ll keep a dog on a long lead until we’re confident in their off-leash reliability. - Do I get updates during the hike?
Yes! We know how reassuring it is to see your pup enjoying themselves. We send a post-hike report with highlights of the adventure, including photos of your dog on the trail and a GPS map of where we went. You’ll know what your dog did, who they hiked with, and how much fun they had. For longer outings, we can also send a quick text update or a couple of live pics during the hike upon request.
